I am a proud first generation Canadian to my family tree. Originally from the Bluff, South Africa, my young (pre-kids) and newly married, hippie parents immigrated to Ft Mc Murray, Canada, in the 70’s; arriving in board shorts and sandals thinking the white stuff on the ground, below the plane, was beach sand. Boy, were they wrong!

Needless to say, I grew up in an environment of adventure and travel, that continued with me into my adult hood. After culinary school, 2003/4, I immediately jumped into a position working on a private island in the Seychelles and shortly after was introduced to the private yachting industry.

I have been blessed with many great opportunities to work with amazing people and see the world as my yachting career has largely been based in remote areas, touching every continent (with Antartica as the only exception, but there’s still time!). My life’s travels have been to very special and unique places, that you couldn’t help but fall in love with, including this special place - Tofo, which I first visited in 2008.

‘Terra de Boa Gente’, known as the Land of Good People. Elisio will greet you in true Mozambican style, with a friendly smile and gracious hospitality. Our super star, Elisio, is originally from Quelimane, in central Mozambique; where he is the sixth of seven children, five boys and two girls.

Elisio has proudly been with the houses from the ground up, having worked for the original owner/builder, a gentleman from Maputo, 10+ years ago. Elisio has since called Tofinho permanent home for 2+ years now, from when I purchased the houses from the owner/builder, in 2018.
